About Exercise Breaks
Who built this
Exercise Breaks was built by an independent developer based in Quebec, Canada. My background is industrial automation — programming controls and human-machine interfaces for factory floors. Exercise Breaks is my first mobile app.
I built it because I wanted it for myself. I work at a desk, I exercise regularly, and I kept reading research suggesting that the morning workout wasn't fully covering the cost of the rest of the day spent sitting. The apps I tried were either tied to expensive hardware, gamified in ways that worked against the goal, or hidden behind subscriptions that didn't match the simplicity of the underlying behaviour. Three minutes of movement every hour shouldn't cost $9 a month or require a smartwatch.
So I built one. Then I made it free for everyone else who wanted the same thing.
Free, supported by tips
The core Exercise Breaks protocol will always be free. No ads. No feature paywall. The app is supported by optional user tips and, if needed later, by clearly-justified paid cloud features for users who want them.
Tips happen inside the app, through Google Play (and Apple's App Store on iOS). Several amounts are available; users can tip more than once if they want. Tips are payments to the developer, not charitable donations — they aren't tax-deductible and don't go through any non-profit.
Contact
For general questions, feedback that isn't bug-related, or press: hello@exercisebreaks.app.
For bug reports, translation feedback, or anything where you want a developer-side response with technical context: feedback@exercisebreaks.app. The in-app feedback button uses this address and pre-fills useful context (your Android version, the app version, your locale) so the conversation can start with the relevant facts already in hand.
I read both inboxes. Replies usually arrive within a week or two; sometimes longer if I'm heads-down on a release. I'm one person.
